Comment | mAb LM13 binds to an arabinase-sensitive pectic epitope.[7] This antibody binds to a specific subset of pectic arabinans, and to longer stretches of 1,5-linked arabinosyl residues that are likely to be more abundant in unbranched arabinans. The binding of LM13 is more sensitive to arabinanase action than LM6/LM17 epitopes.[8] |

Comment | The series of (1-5)-alpha-L-arabinobiose to (1-5)-alpha-L-arabinopentaose displayed increaseing capacity to inhibit LM6 binding in the competitive inhibition assays with the to arabinohexaose being the most effectinv inhibitor indicating that the size of the epitope is 5-6 (1-5)-alpha-L-linked arabinose residues.[1] |
